Direct Handling Without Polish Emb. Involvement

The disadvantages of submitting Polish citizenship requests via a Polish Embassy:

  1. Once an application has been submitted via an Embassy, handling of the file cannot be influenced further. In contrast, when the request is handled directly in Poland , our attorneys can maintain continuous contact with the Polish Authorities.

  1. Applications by Polish natives or their descendants, based on the citizenship of a Polish native who emigrated from prior to January 1951, are often rejected unjustifiably, due to an erroneous interpretation of the 1920 Polish Law. With direct handling, we present the relevant arguments to overcome this problem, at the initial stage of the application.

  1. An appeal against rejection of an application must be submitted within 14 days from the receipt of the decision. Drawing up the appeal documents in a professional manner requires the involvement of an attorney in Poland, who is well versed in this field. Submission of the appeal via the Polish Embassy is far too slow and may not meet professional requirements.

  1. Applications processed through an Embassy are occasionally passed on for authorization by the Polish President, instead of by the district government in . As a result, the applicant’s descendants will lose their citizenship rights. Our firm handles cases of clients who have obtained citizenship from the Polish President and have requested to convert it to regular citizenship.

  1. The Embassy refuses to transfer files to the Polish Authorities prior to submission of a birth certificate, which sometimes takes many months to locate, and in some cases is never found. For instance, most of the archives in Warsaw were destroyed during the Second World War and often birth certificates cannot be found. Our firm has succeeded in obtaining Polish citizenships for applicants, based on a Curriculum Vitae and other documents, instead of a Polish birth certificate.

Submitting a request for Polish citizenship directly in Poland circumvents the above-mentioned problems. In addition, the amount of involvement required by clients is minimal, saving them valuable time.
